Hi Anon,

Windows Live Writer does support a variety of blog engines including ones you can host yourself such as WordPress and BlogEngine as well as FTP. There are several how to's on the net on how to use Live Writer with hosted services.

It is my primary mode of writing at the moment as I too have tried several blogging applications. With its tight integration into Blogger, Wordpress and Picasa, its perfect for general day to day writing. Additionally, the html it spits out is quite tidy and not like the inbuilt Blogger WYSIWYG editor which ends up putting a lot of HTML markup unnecessarily.. :)

After trying blogjet, w.blogger etc I almost dumped my idea of hosting blog at blogger.com. Finally when I downloaded Live writer, it gave non-supported OS message. Thank you so much for providing msi. Though I have little experience with blogging, Live Writer works simply the best with blogger.com. I need your feedback – If I host my blog(currently at blogger.com)at my own hosting provider, will this tool work as good as it works with blogger.com?
